Hey People who have been to/live in Seattle!

Hey People who have been to/live in Seattle!

If you were going to be in Seattle for a few days (mid-Spetember, mid-week if it matters), where would you go/what would you do?

  1. If you're into gaming store tourism, hit Game Kingdom in Ballard -- it's the best game store/bar combo I've seen to date. Lots of good food and beer in Ballard as well.

I also agree with EMP. It's a neat place. It's close to the Space Needle too, if you like heights. Worth it for the view of the mountains.

MOHAI is a neat museum not too far away from EMP. Beautiful view of Lake Union. You can watch seaplanes. Also next to the Center for Wooden Boats which I like a lot.

The Seattle Underground tour is a bit sensationalist, I hear, but if you dig underground tunnels! (snicker.)

Pikes Place Market is worth a visit. Less touristy than Faneuil Hall. Still touristy.

  2. The Pinball Museum is pretty amazing. It's not the largest collection of tables you can find in Seattle but they're all on free play for one admission price :)

Take advantage of Utilikilt's only brick and mortar store, if you're so inclined. Super friendly staff.

Skip the Space Needle, but do the observatory deck at Columbia Center.

The Chihuly Museum is pretty great.

I also enjoyed the public library's bizarre architecture, but that might be Johanna Bobrow's influence speaking :)

  3. The public library is interesting from an architecture and a UX perspective, imho. Not worth a special trip, but if you're in that neck of the woods, interesting to peek in to.
