Fighting a wildfire on a gun range, or, the sensuous memories of #fieldwork

I read a book about Smokejumpers last year. Wildfires are a big deal out West. Some states use prison labor to help fight these fires and an anthropologist went out to do some fieldwork among them. Although the article here is more about her experiences than her research subjects, I did find it to be an interesting article about what it's like on the line.
