Boston-area peeps: I like Journeyman but would like to try a new high-end restaurant. What do you suggest?

  1. Eric and I recently tried Fogo de Chao in Copley. All-you-can-eat
excellent meat brought to you on swords by gauchos, and waitstaff attentive
    at the
    hover-so-they-can-pull-your-chair-out-when-you-come-back-from-the-buffet
    level.

  2. Bronwen is not as high end as I hear Journeyman is (never been) but it's the best German /German fusion around!

  3. I assume you're familiar with bergamot?

  4. Menton in Fort Point has blown me away both times I've been there.

  5. Spoke Wine Bar (Davis), Ten Tables (Cambridge), Alden & Harlow (Harvard Sq), Troquet (Boylston stop downtown), Loyal Nine (E Somerville).

  6. Jess S also recommends Villa Lago in Lexington.

  7. You know, it's funny, I was recommended to Alden & Harlow, and then was turned off by how pretentious their menu was (also because the time I was headed there with a friend, I saw the lawyer-not-my-lawyer-the-devil enter, and decided to eat elsewhere because obvs. And then another friend went there and said it was wonderful. So maybe they just need new writers?

  8. TW Food in Cambridge. (Same owners as bronwyn fancier food and atmosphere)

  9. Are you willing to go to Providence? The Gatehouse and Al Forno were the best when I dined there. Around here, TW Food, Aquitaine downtown, Bergamot, Morton's if you like steak, Bistro 5 in Medford, and I've always wanted to try Blue Ginger, Ming Tsai's restaurant in Wellesley, I think.
